New CYS CD	CYS will hold auditions for new members seeking admission to one of our 8 programs on April 22^nd and April 29^th, 2006. The auditions will be held at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. The application deadline is March 22^nd. Click here for more information. - - - - - - - - - - - CYS's Young Artist Competition to select soloists for the 2006-07 season will be held May 13th, 2006 at Stanford University. The Competition is open to any young instrumentalist 18 years old or younger. The application deadline is April 24th. Click here for more information and to download an application form. - - - - - - - - - - -	Founded in 1952 the California Youth Symphony has taught upwards of 15,000 students and includes two full symphony orchestras- the CYS Orchestra and the CYS Associate Orchestra, as well as a percussion ensemble and six additional groups for younger musicians. The 2005-2006 membership of the CYSy includes 500 of the greater Bay Area's most promising young musicians ranging in age from 8 to 17 and representing more than 100 elementary, middle and high schools.
The award-winning California Youth Symphony, under the direction of Maestro Leo Eylar, announces the release of a new CD, *‘The Maestro’s Pick: Orchestral Virtuoso Showpieces, featuring Ashley Lau and the California Youth Symphony’* (California Youth Symphony, $15).
